Yeobaek Privacy Policy
This is a translation of the Korean original. If the two differ, the Korean version prevails.
Yeobaek (the "App") is a journal app where you keep one photo a day in each space. The App has no sign-up and no server, and the photos and notes you keep are stored only on your device. This policy explains what information the App keeps, where it keeps it, and what it never sends off your device.
andnextlab (the "Company") does not collect your photos or notes and cannot see them. To improve the App, it sends only usage records about how the App is used to Google Analytics. Usage records do not include photos, notes, or space names.
1. At a glance
| Information | How it is handled |
|---|---|
| Photos and notes | Stored only in the App's private storage on your device. Never sent to a server. |
| Account information | Not collected. There is no sign-up or login. |
| Usage records | Sent to Google Analytics. They do not include photos, notes, or space names (Section 4). |
| Crash reports | Not collected. The App contains no crash reporting tools. |
| Location | Precise location is not collected. Photo metadata, including location, is removed when a photo is saved. Google Analytics estimates only an approximate region (country or city level) from the IP address (Section 4). |
| Advertising | None. The App does not use advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID, iOS IDFA). |
2. Information stored on your device
To provide its features, the App stores the following on your device. None of it is sent off your device, and the Company has no access to it.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Spaces | Name, start date, order |
| Daily entries | Date, photo, note, the time the photo was taken, whether the capture date could be confirmed |
| Photo files | Resized copies (three sizes) of the photos you choose |
| Settings | App settings such as the language you chose |
- Only the one photo you choose is resized and copied into the App's private storage. The original in your photo library is never changed or deleted.
- Photo metadata such as location (GPS) and camera details is removed when the copy is made. Only the capture time is used, to check the date of the entry.
3. Permissions
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| Photo library | Showing the photos taken on a given day so you can choose one |
The App asks for this permission the first time you choose a photo. It also works with "Limited Access" (selected photos only). If you deny it, you cannot add new photos, but you can still view your existing entries. You can change the permission at any time in your device's Settings.
4. Usage records (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To improve the App by learning which features are used and where people stop using the App, the App sends usage records to Google Analytics. The Company views the statistics collected in Google Analytics.
- What is collected
- Screens viewed in the App: the space list, the year's circle, the calendar, a day's entry, choosing a photo, creating and editing a space, and settings
- Actions on entries: creating, editing, and deleting a space; adding, replacing, and deleting a daily entry; and editing a note. The only values recorded with these actions are how many days ago the filled day was, whether there is a note, whether the photo's capture date was confirmed, how many days ago the space's start date is, and the number of entries in a deleted space
- User properties: the number of spaces and the app language you chose
- Usage information such as an identifier for each app installation (a random value created by Google), first launch, time spent, and sessions
- App version, operating system type and version, device manufacturer and model, and device language
- Approximate location (country and city level) estimated from your IP address. Google Analytics does not store the IP address itself
- What is not collected: photos, notes, space names, the dates of entries and the start dates of spaces themselves (only how many days ago they are is sent), the time and location a photo was taken, names and contact details, and advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID, iOS IDFA). Ad personalization features are not used either
- Purpose: improving features, finding pain points and where people stop using the App, and usage statistics
- Retention: according to Google Analytics data retention settings (up to 14 months)
- Opting out: this cannot be turned off separately in the App. If you do not want it, you can delete the App. Deleting the App removes the installation identifier, so earlier records are no longer linked to that device
- Opting out: This cannot be turned off separately in the App. If you do not want it, you can delete the App. Deleting the App removes the installation identifier, so earlier records are no longer linked to that device
- Processor: Google LLC (How Google Analytics collects data, Google Privacy Policy)
5. Other cases when information leaves your device
Apart from usage records, the App never sends information off your device on its own. The cases below are performed by your device's operating system or happen when you open a document yourself.
Device backups
If iCloud Backup on iPhone or device backup on Android is turned on, the operating system may include the App's data in that backup. Such backups are stored in your Apple or Google account, and the Company has no access to them.
Opening web documents
When you open this policy or the Terms of Use from the App, your device's browser downloads the document. The documents are hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, and Google may process your IP address to deliver them. The Company does not collect these access records.
6. Sharing with third parties and outsourcing
The Company does not sell personal information or provide it to third parties. To improve the App, the Company entrusts the work below to another company, which processes the information only for that purpose.
| Recipient | Work entrusted | Items |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC | Usage statistics analysis (Google Analytics for Firebase) | The items in Section 4 |
Transfer outside Korea
The usage records in Section 4 are transferred outside Korea as follows.
| Recipient | Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, privacy contact) |
| Countries | The United States and other countries where Google operates data centers |
| Items | The usage records in Section 4 |
| When and how | Sent from time to time while you use the App, encrypted over the network |
| Purpose | Usage statistics analysis |
| Retention | Same as Section 4 (up to 14 months) |
| Refusing and its effect | This cannot be turned off separately in the App. If you do not want it, you can delete the App, in which case you can no longer use it. |
7. Retention and deletion
- When you delete a space or a daily entry in the App, its photo files and note are deleted from your device right away.
- Deleting the App deletes all entries and settings stored in it. The Company cannot recover deleted entries.
- Usage records are deleted from Google Analytics after the retention period in Section 4.
8. Children's information
The App may be used to keep a record of a baby's or child's days. Photos and notes about a child stay only on the parent's or guardian's device, and the Company cannot collect or see them. Usage records come from the device of the person using the App and contain no information about the child.
9. Your rights
- The App does not create accounts, so there is no information such as your name or contact details to request access to, correct, or delete. You can edit or delete the entries on your device directly in the App.
- Usage records cannot be turned off separately in the App. Deleting the App removes the installation identifier, so earlier records are no longer linked to you.
- For any other request to access, delete, or stop processing, please email us at the address below. We will handle it without delay and let you know the result.
10. Changes to this policy
If a change to the App changes how it handles information, we will update this policy. We will post the changes and the effective date on this page at least 7 days in advance, and earlier versions will remain available in the history below.
| Version | Effective date | Changes |
|---|---|---|
| v1 (current) | October 14, 2026 | First version |
